Background to Cavell House
Originally the Victorian home of Lord and Lady Belgrave, it later became a residential Girls School and Nurse Edith Cavell (the world war one heroine) spent some of her school days here. Prior to George and Daphne Hamnett becoming proprietors, Cavell House was a childrens home administered by the Assemblies of God Pentecostal Church.

As you drive along Elton Road, passing the little harp pub on your left, with the bandstand further on, which is an old victorian open sided shelter, with the sea and Clevedon pier on your left, it's at the end of Elton road, on your right, just before you get to sixways roundabout.
